Your scans stay under your control
Roomlog does not require an account and does not send scans, photos, room layouts, or usage analytics to the developer. The app has no advertising, tracking, or developer-operated cloud service.
What the app saves
When you scan, the app uses the camera and LiDAR to save room geometry, reference photos, depth frames, camera poses, and tracking maps on your device. It also saves room names, scan times, device and system information, and technical diagnostics such as tracking errors and memory or thermal conditions. Photos and room geometry can reveal private details of your surroundings.
Permissions
Camera access is requested when you start a scan. You can revoke it in the device Settings app. Importing, reviewing, deleting, and sharing existing scans does not require camera access. The app does not request access to your Contacts, location, microphone, or Photos library.
Sharing and Files
Nothing is shared automatically. When you use Share, iOS sends the exported ZIP to the app, service, device, or person you choose. Exports may contain reference photos and other recorded scan data, including technical diagnostics in session or whole-house exports. A room mesh can include nearby surfaces recorded during the same session. Review the destination before sharing. Copies you share or save elsewhere are controlled by that destination and are not removed when you delete the original.
Storage, backups and deletion
Scans are stored in the app’s Documents folder, also accessible through Files. Your device backup settings may include this data in an Apple device backup. The app itself does not synchronize scans to a developer server. Rooms and individual scan versions moved to Recently Deleted remain stored until you restore them or explicitly delete them permanently. Deleting a house permanently removes its local scan data. Device backups and exported copies must be managed separately.
Imported scans and temporary exports
When you import a folder, the app copies its room data into local storage. The original folder remains where you selected it. Temporary ZIP files are used to prepare shares and are removed after the share sheet closes; abandoned temporary shares are cleaned up later.
Google Drive upload (optional)
Only when you choose to upload, the app signs in to your Google account with Google Sign-In and uploads the same ZIP export you would share to a folder named “Roomlog” in your own Google Drive. The app asks only for access to files it creates and never creates sharing links. Uploaded files are stored by Google under your account; the developer receives no data. Google Sign-In keeps its sign-in tokens in the device keychain. You can sign out, or disconnect and revoke access, in Help & privacy → Google Drive. Files you uploaded stay in your Drive until you delete them there.
Operation log
The app keeps a local operation log on this device for one year, for example sign-ins, uploads, imports, shares and deletions. It contains no passwords or tokens and only a masked account name. It is never sent anywhere unless you export it from Help & privacy → Operation log.
Changes and support
This policy describes this version of Roomlog. Updates will include a revised policy if the app’s data practices change.
Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)
Roomlog's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The app requests only the drive.file scope: it can create and access only the files it uploads, and cannot read anything else in your Drive. The account email received from Google is used only to show (masked) which account you signed in with. The access token is used only to perform the uploads you start; Google Sign-In stores it in the device keychain. It is never sent to the developer and never used for advertising, AI model training or any other purpose.
When you sign in, your Google Account information is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; the Google Sign-In component may collect device and usage information for authentication and abuse prevention. This data is handled by Google; the developer does not receive it.
How to revoke Google access
In the app: Help & privacy → Google Drive → Disconnect and revoke access.
Or remove “Roomlog” on your Google Account's third-party apps & services page (myaccount.google.com/connections).
After revoking, files you already uploaded stay in your Drive until you delete them there.
